Civic and economic participation is so much more than checking a box or managing a paycheck! Civic engagement is creating the communities we want for ourselves by working together to impact the issues that matter most to us. In this course, we ask: what can we do to act on the visions we have for our communities? How can we organize our communities beyond the ballot? We will engage in research on local issues and practice imagining possibilities for our communities and take action.

✓ Learn research skills to examine the root causes of current civic and
economic problems
✓ Learn multiple actions people can take to respond to civic and economic
problems
✓ Learn how to produce your own action item or toolkit that inspires people to
act in different ways in response to civic or economic problems
✓ Learn how to present your research and products to an outside audiences
